The best smart floor lamp for your room depends on what you need the light to do. A slim colour-changing lamp can add atmosphere beside a TV or gaming desk. A reading corner needs a different check: enough useful light in the right place, rather than a colourful wall alone.
Choose the job first, then compare the controls, dimensions and published light output. This UK buying guide looks at Zyko, Govee and Philips Hue, alongside the alternative of a conventional lamp with a smart bulb. The comparison uses manufacturer specifications; it does not claim hands-on testing.

Which type of smart floor lamp suits you?
Shortlist by the feature that matters to your room
| Option | Reason to consider it | Important check |
|---|---|---|
| Zyko Smart Floor Lamp | RGBIC ambient colour, Tuya Smart app and an included remote | 142cm height; exact lumen output and white-temperature range are not published |
| Govee Floor Lamp 2, H607C | Matter support and published white-light specifications | 152.1cm height; compare this model rather than another Govee generation |
| Philips Hue Signe gradient floor lamp, black | Gradient lighting within a Hue setup | 145.8cm height; confirm the hub requirements for desired features |
| Conventional floor lamp plus compatible smart bulb | A familiar shade or reading-lamp style with replaceable bulb options | Bulb fitting, shade clearance, maximum wattage and smart-bulb compatibility |
There is no universal winner across those jobs. A colour lamp may be the right decorative purchase while a shaded lamp is the better everyday reading choice. If you already use a smart-lighting platform, keeping the controls together may be worth more than another set of effects.
Zyko Smart Floor Lamp: for ambient room colour
The Zyko Smart Floor Lamp is a 142cm RGBIC lamp with colour and white-light modes. Its published functions include adjustable brightness, dynamic scenes, music sync and timers, with Tuya Smart app control and an included remote.
Black and white finishes are available, along with single and double packs. The construction is aluminium with a PVC diffuser. Choose the finish for the room in daylight as well as when the lamp is on, and decide whether you have a useful position for one lamp or two.
It is worth considering when you want a movable lighting feature rather than attaching panels to a wall. A remote is useful if someone in the household would rather change the light without opening an app.
There are limits to what the published specifications establish. They do not give an exact lumen figure or white-light temperature range. Matter and Apple Home support are not confirmed, and the voice-control description does not identify a complete list of assistants. Ask about a specific requirement before ordering rather than inferring it from the Tuya name.
That makes the clearest buying case ambient colour and everyday effect control. If your main requirement is a measured amount of reading light or a particular smart-home integration, resolve that requirement first.

Govee Floor Lamp 2: for a specified Matter option
Govee's UK listing identifies Floor Lamp 2 as H607C. It specifies RGBICWW lighting, 1,725 lumens, a 2,200–6,500K white range and Matter support, alongside app and remote control. Its height is 152.1cm.
It is a relevant alternative when those published white-light figures or Matter integration are buying priorities. Check your Matter controller and the features available through each app or platform; do not assume every lighting effect transfers to a third-party control system.
Govee sells several floor-lamp models. Compare the exact model code when looking at a retailer's listing, especially if the offer is for a Basic, Pro or refurbished version instead.
Philips Hue Signe gradient: for an existing Hue setup
The black Signe gradient floor lamp listed here is 145.8cm tall and supports Bluetooth and Zigbee. Philips Hue specifies 2,550 lumens at 4,000K, 1,800 lumens at 2,700K and a 2,000–6,500K range.
It can be controlled by Bluetooth without a Bridge; adding a compatible Bridge unlocks additional Hue features. Consider it when extending an existing Hue setup is the priority, and check the accessories required for the particular automation or entertainment feature you want.
Keep Signe gradient distinct from the older Signe and other Hue floor-light designs. A similar name or product photograph is not enough to establish an identical specification.
How to choose a smart floor lamp for a living room
Decide whether the lamp is atmosphere or task lighting
A wall wash can make a corner feel more inviting, but it does not tell you how well a book, desk or craft project will be lit. For reading, look at the direction of the light and the useful output at the seat, not only the maximum lumen figure on the product page.
Manufacturer lumen figures also need context. Output can change with white temperature or the colour mode, and a lamp facing a dark wall will behave differently from one reflecting off a pale wall. Published figures help narrow a shortlist; they do not replace a demonstration in a comparable room.
Measure height, floor space and the cable route
Height is only one dimension. Check the base, any projecting arm, nearby furniture and the route to a socket. A slender lamp is useful only if it fits without crowding a walkway or competing with curtains and furniture.
For a corner floor lamp, consider where you will sit and whether the light source will be directly visible from that position. A staged image can show an appealing effect without showing all the room's practical constraints.
Check the control everyone will use
Decide whether phone control, a remote or a familiar wall control matters most. Then check the exact lamp's requirements for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a hub or a supported voice assistant. App-controlled does not mean every lamp supports every platform.
For an Apple Home or Matter-based home, verify that specific support. For a mixed household, simple everyday controls may be just as useful as an extensive scene library.
Choosing a floor lamp for a gaming setup
For a gaming room, decide whether the lamp should provide a steady background colour or react to sound. Music sync and screen sync are different functions: a lamp reacting to music does not establish that it reads your game picture.
Think about the whole setup before buying a double pack. One lamp may suit an unused corner; two need two sensible positions and power routes. Matching the finish and keeping the lighting at a comfortable level can be more useful than filling every available space.
If you want lighting above the desk instead, Zyko Elements Smart Light Bars provide a modular wall-mounted alternative. They are a different product format, rather than a smaller freestanding floor lamp. Our small gaming room guide can help you think through the available space.

Flexible lighting such as an RGBIC rope light is another option for adding colour around a gaming setup without using a freestanding floor lamp.

When a smart bulb in a conventional lamp makes more sense
If you prefer a fabric shade, an adjustable reading arm or a particular furniture style, you may not need an integrated RGB lamp. A compatible smart bulb can add dimming, schedules and supported controls to a conventional floor lamp.
Check the fitting and the fixture's restrictions before buying. E27, E14 and B22 are not interchangeable, and the bulb must fit within the shade and the fixture's rated limits. Some lamps with built-in dimmers need extra care when choosing a smart bulb. Use the lamp and bulb manufacturers' compatibility guidance rather than assuming any dimmable product will work.
Our light-bulb fittings guide explains the common bases. A replaceable-bulb route also lets you separate your choice of lamp style from the smart-lighting system, although it will not necessarily reproduce the multi-zone effects of an integrated colour lamp.
Make the final choice around the feature you need
Choose an ambient RGB lamp for room colour, a model with published output and confirmed controls when those requirements are essential, or a conventional lamp with a suitable smart bulb when reading and furniture style come first.
Compare the total purchase, including any required hub, bulb or second lamp. Check whether an offer is for a single lamp, a double pack or a refurbished item. Avoid treating temporary discounts as the reason to overlook a missing feature.
For Zyko, start with the finish, pack size and the place it will sit. If the published ambient-lighting features match your needs, the product page is the place to check the current options and ask about any specific compatibility requirement.
